Horizon: Zero Dawn is rumored to be delayed till 2017.. Half sad half happy.. Sad cause I want it now. Happy because it should come out nice and polished.
Meh. I'm okay with delays. Two of my favorite games from last gen were delayed (GTA 5 and TLOU). If I have to wait a bit longer for a better, more polished product, I'm okay with that 100% of the time.
I am really intrigued by Horizon. Excited to see Guerrilla do something other than Killzone.
Seems like quite a few PlayStation people ITT. Any of you heard of Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty? They did IGN's PS podcast (Podcast Beyond) for a long time before leaving IGN to make their own company (Kinda Funny). They live stream a talk show on Twitch every weekday at 2 eastern, and release a few different podcasts each week. The main one I listen to is PS I Love You XOXO. I recommend giving them a listen. Met them in Atlanta last year. Very chill dudes.
Yeah, UC4 was slated "2015" and then March 2016, then April 2016, then May 2016.
Even still. I'm getting tired of companies giving release dates they can't live up to. Don't give it a 2016 release date if you can't get it out by then. It's just getting annoying. Literally every title these days gives a 20XX release date and then never gets it out by then. NMS did it too. Andromeda did it. The Division. It's commonplace, and honestly needs to stop.
Eh, I think you're trying to create a problem where there isn't one. It isn't a big deal. It's a bummer when things get pushed back, sure, but game development is a very complicated thing and unforeseen circumstances happen. It's not like developers just randomly throw out dates with no rhyme or reason to them.
Unforseen things happen, yes, which is why Uncharted 4 has taken so long. After announcement, multiple lead writers left ND. Frustrating, but understandable. With everything else, it just doesn't seem that way. Is every game that gets announced these days having their writers leave or something? Because it has gotten far, far too common for games to get a release year, and they seem to rarely actually come out that year. And if they do, it's like December 31. It's just gotten a tad annoying. Not ever a big deal individually. I don't mind Horizon being pushed to 2017. I want them to take their time and get it right, just like everything else. Just stop giving false release dates because it is starting to get old. I pretty much now expect it of any game that gets a 20XX vague release date to release the following year.

Atlus went through a lot of shit during Persona 5's development. The company who owns Atlus (Index) went bankrupt, which I would say unarguably hurt the development process, and then Sega acquired Atlus, so they had to deal with that as well, and then Atlus decided to make P5 for the PS4 as well after the game was originally supposed to be just on the PS3 (which is a good move). So Persona 5 has very legitimate excuses for its delays.
What else? Dark Souls III didn't have any delay issues. Street Fighter V didn't. So idk. FFXV had its lead programmer leave Square Enix back in 2014. And btw, that game had a vague "2016" release date this year, and now it's confirmed for Sep. 30th. Overwatch had a vague 2016 release date at one point, and now it's confirmed for May. Pretty much everything has a vague release date like that until developers can further specify.
I just don't see your issue. If you're on board with developers taking their sweet time to get the game right, then why are you even complaining. I doubt they ever really give "false" release dates. I'm sure games that get delayed could have been released in some form whenever they first said they we'd get the game. But it would have been rushed.

The only reason I know Greg and Colin is because they hosted the FFXV Uncovered event. I have heard good things about their podcast though. May check it out.

Fair enough. I'm really just being nitpicky because release dates do seem to just be a placeholder these days. Everything is getting delayed all the time. I think mirror's edge just got delayed a couple weeks, but nothing major.

Hm. Probably just to polish it a bit more, I would say.
While we're on the topic if announcing games and release dates.. I'm about to rant. (It's not directed at you or anybody specifically at all) I don't understand why some people become disinterested in a game largely because it gets announced early. Like, I know you said you were super hyped for The Division when you first heard about it, but as time passed and the game still wasn't released, you became disinterested. Maybe it's because the game simply didn't seem as cool as it once did to you and your disinterest had nothing to do with how long the game took to come out, but a lot of people do say "X game took forever to release and as a result my hype and anticipation for it died".
That just doesn't make sense to me. I just don't see why when a game gets announced matters at all. If the game kicks ass when it eventually releases, you won't care how long it took. If it sucks, then it wouldn't have mattered how quickly it came out after its reveal. Because it still sucked. There have been rumors and speculation about KH3 for like a decade, and I'm still just as hyped for it (if not more) as I was when I first heard it was officially confirmed back in 2013.
Picked up Star Fox Zero. Anyone else planning on playing it? I know its gotten some pretty mixed reviews, but I'm curious to try it out.
I liked Star Fox a lot back in my GameCube days. Won't ever buy a Wii U though, so no I won't be playing it. We'll see what the NX is all about. At least I think they're calling it the NX.
Tower of latria is an interesting place.. it's basically a big ass maze.. unsure where to go atm..
The freaking Octopus prison guards things are annoying AF.
Meh, thiefs ring + Dragon Longsword+3 = no problem. Just fought fools idol.. Very easy, killed first try. Only took damage cause I stepped in one of those traps right off the bat.
