Makers is an average bourbon. I usually have it on the rocks.
I don't know about your neck of the woods, but up here there's a lot of good small batch craft bourbon's being made.
Me and Torr (?) have had this discussion before I believe. Passable on it's own, but awful in drinks (Whiskey Sour, Manhattan) that requires a higher rye mash bill. Makers Mark is all about the corn, too sweet for me, can't stand it, disappointment. For a straight up bourbon, similar price, Bulleit, but their rye is outstanding.
