Sixers NBA Season Thread

This is embarrassing.

Denver has a free championship ready for the taking. Jimmy and his merry band of misfits vs the altitude merchants. Hope Jimmy can do it.

Watching Doc coach the Sixers was like watching someone beat their head against the wall a million times expecting a different result. He basically just coasted through the regular season with his starters and didn't really make an effort to change anything up when it didn't work. He just had an unfailing belief in his his stars that they would be able to just outwork everyone else, especially Embiid because he is just so dominant in the regular season.

You're absolutely right that coaching matters in the playoffs. Just like with just about any major sport, the NBA playoffs are about matchups, and Doc just refused to find ways to create favorable ones. I think he has had more shooters this year than he has at any point in his tenure here, but he didn't know how to utilize them as a group and create cutting lanes. Maxey, Harden, Melton, and even Tobias could shoot. The 76ers led the league in 3s and 3 point % (or were at least right up there with the league leaders). He has a great cutting player in Maxey, but only seemingly knew how to run pick and roll with Harden and Embiid, and didn't know what to do when that didn't work.

This is a game that celts should continue to blow them out but we know they won't.
