It is kind of weird looking back. Joel Embiid is becoming what Greg Oden was supposed to be, but even better. The hype train is rolling and will just keep getting bigger and bigger once Embiid gets taken off of his minute count. If Simmons lives up to and exceeds his hype the way Embiid has, the 76ers are going to be VERY dangerous.

About as well as a talented, scrappy team missing 3 of their top players due to injury could be expected. Of course I'm not from a delusional fan base and realize that,as much talent as the celt have, they don't have anyone that would be able to crack the top 3 players of any of the legitimate contenders. They are fun to watch and over achieve and with some luke and the right trade in the year or 2, they COULD be a team that contends.

What they are NOT is a team that has been on a multi year seemingly endless rebuilding journey.

Well I care if I'm having fun and I'm having fun having you try to explain to me how good a team that has been pretty bad for over a decade and isn't any better this year than they have been the last couple of years is "close" to a championship.

I will agree that if they have a couple of more years of being as bad as they have been and are now there is no reason the starting 5 and probably a significant number of the bench players shouldn't be lottery picks.

You might be right they might be contenders before the celts. I don't really think it is possible for them to continue to be as bad as they have been but I'm sure you will educate me if I'm wrong😀
