As to hoping ALL is well, we BOTH know that's hardly ever the case for ANYONE. Life is like a double-edged sword, never knowing what side of it I'm getting ready to fall on.
As an update to anyone else that might like to know ; let's talk about the good stuff though, since we all have our own crosses to bear & keep it positive...
My son Dennis started his Air Force career on New Years day. He's still in basic training, but is ahead of his class. So proud, as he was placed in the TOP training squadron in the 331'st, known as the "Wolf Pack", supposed to be best squadron in BMT.
I've been helping him to mentally prepare for this venture many months before he left. Seems like it all paid off. I told him to expect the worst, so when/if it wasn't THAT bad, it'd be much easier on him to roll with the punches.
He now tells me the first couple weeks REALLY sucked, but he's confident in himself, and that it's a lot less harder than he'd expected.
Also, I moved from NJ to SC(near Myrtle Beach). So freaking happy to get away from the bone-chilling temperatures I've been used to.
Most days I'm outside with shorts & T-Shirt. Only 5-6 miles from the ocean, and just got a nice 14ft Jon boat to go fishing.
