I’ve been out of Colorado for 8.5years now. But that’s my home. Westside. My hood is where most have happened. Thomas-suicide Antonio-(BFF Child)drowning, accidental drowning(alcohol) Ken-accidental overdose Liggy-accidental overdose Jessica-killed drunk driver in Denver Paul-father of Antonio (alcohol depression) Jennifer-(White girl known as “black jenn”; I was known as white Jenn)-heroin Derek-murdered Devin-heroin So many people. I’m worried my bff is next. She lost her son and his dad.
Colorado Springs, one person, less than 10 years. So many deaths. Not even an inner city.

Ugh...I don't even know what to say about all that. I am sorry your heart hurts from all that you lost.
Eye could say "buck up," but my condolences. Colorado is becoming a real fucking place and not in the good way. Most of my friends left. I'm not too familiar with Colorado Springs, but Eye remember a lot of articles about redneck service men and bar fights. Pretty violent stuff actually. People definitely love their drugs in Colorado. And we were always high on the suicide list (my father always attributed that to the weather--even if it's sunny almost all the time--Alaska is generally #1).

Thanks man. It seems like every few months. That doesn’t even include people who have passed form natural causes.

Military didn’t hang out much on the Westside. Too far from all the bases. But yeah, soldiers often got restricted to base. Mostly for fights and sexing underage girls. 12-13yo(classmate in 7th was killed cuz some dumb drunk GI drove off a mountain) Old Colorado City is close to Manitou lots of hippies their.
Some people just don't understand fully how losing a friend affects you an I am sorry to hear you've lost so many of yours. It's a shame to see when the young die an didn't have a chance at a full life. Drugs have taken so many an people don't know the toll it takes on the family.

Damn I'm sorry to hear that's insane.
Oddly after leaving FL to move to Denver there have been a lot of deaths of people we knew in FL. My brother's known at least 3 people who have died from either suicide/car wreck, and my wife just found out about a friend that was shot to death at a gas station like a month or so ago, and knew of multiple others that died. We went to a funeral for one of her friends like the summer before we moved. And last summer one my good friends from college died randomly. Then a few months later my friend Marcus's (who was at the college friend funeral) parents died in a tragic accident. Fuck man we are fragile as fuck.
I didnt want to trash the town. But ive seen what goes on in those parts. Im mainly referring to the area behind the city college. That southeast area of C Springs. The majority of my career was spent fighting the war on drugs. Wether people think that war was good or bad is besides the point. Its simply what i did. That was the majority of my career. So fighting FARC/Cartel terrosism and the drug trade is something i know a little but about. In fact a very small portion of NORAD was dedicated to our Countries attempts at controlling drugs coming in and out of the Country. That was my connection to NORAD. C Springs in the 90's had a fairly expansive meth issue. Lots of major activity. I have no idea whats happening now. But then it was pretty bad.
them ducks moved on from meth and onto heroin. Fucking sucks. Never spent much time in SE CS. More time in the North(rich kids love drugs) but most time on the westside and old Colorado City. Most locals I knew did their best to avoid the military side of town. But there was always a good supply of locals who thought military men were the way out.

There were some monster sized meth manufacturing going on in that section of town i mentioned. I cant recall the name of it. Drive past the city college. There was a mini golf on the left. That whole area to the southeast of the mini golf was infested with meth makers. A lot of meth in the southwest of our country was coming from there all the way down to ABQ. This is probably info i shouldn't even be talking about because the Military really doesn't get involved with the drug scene. Not here in the country at least. But at that time in the 90s we didnt just focus primarily on South America.
lots of meth got brought in by the Mexicans in the early 2000s on. Saw less and less homemade dope. We used to call that side of town B street. You’re talking about the community college, right? When I think of “city college” I think of Colorado College the uber elite uni just off downtown.

Pikes Peak CC. On the map it looks like that area is called Security? Been so many years.
Security is a different town than Colorado Springs. Security and Fountain are inbred towns. Lmao...at least that how most people from Colorado Springs think of them. But I know where you’re talking.

Some serious trash in that area. We cleaned it up. Not surprised to hear that the meth came back from out of town.
