Since I was dealing with a medical issue for over a month and got knocked out of PT and workouts, I am thinking now is the time to have it repaired. The PTs were concerned it might eventually split open since I have had it for a long time.
Yeah, I had an umbilical hernia repaired where they used a mesh. I had no pain, and yeah they said no lifting for a few weeks. Other than me puking for half of they day because of the anesthesia....it was really easy.

Just got the results of my ecocardiogram. Guess I will not need a valve replacement. Good thing, I had pretty much decided not to let them crack open my chest again. The Cardiologist said other than shortness of breath, it is not painful to let yourself go that way.
Might was well go ahead and have the hernia repaired. Starting over on PT and workouts anyway. Anesthesia doesn't seem to bother me other than I have a hard time coming out of it. I remember the nurse slapping my face the last time. Not really hard. Just enough to piss me off and wake me up.

Good luck and have a speedy recovery
Thank you sir. It has not been scheduled yet though. Not even had a consultation with General Surgery. My ecocardiogram was scheduled almost two months ago and we have been waiting on the results, which I got this morning. Very happy, of course.
The nice thing about this, timing wise, is that my insurance plan has a stop loss provision. This procedure should hit it, which means any subsequent treatment, PT and so forth will not be added to my medical debt. Too bad it doesn't apply to my fucking medications. Oh well, ya can't win them all.
Jeez, I need to get caught up here. I had a hernia near the belly button. On occasion, it would invert and extend outwards, usually after some physical activity. It sucked. I would lay on my back and massage the area in all directions until it reverted back into place.
My Dr. said "Now that will hurt to get it repaired". I lost weight. It healed itself. It's gone. Been 2 years, haven't seen it and I've done alot more physical activity in the past 2 years, than the previous 5. I was a unhealthy load.

Having the preliminary ultrasound Friday. Will be told if it is surgery or not.
