In my experience from a reliability/hardware standpoint, I’d just stick with a MacBook. You can get a solid MacBook Pro in that price range. Yes, you are going to pay more for the specs vs a windows equivalent but it’ll give you the reliability that you want. This is also assuming that you aren’t planning to do any graphics intensive stuff on it like gaming or video editing and don’t need anything with dedicated graphics.
The one issues MacBooks had was a problem with their keyboard in the 2016-2019 models If I recall correctly, but this years models fixed the issue. If you really want to go with a windows equivalent, your best bet is probably something like the Dell XPS series. Lenovo has some nice higher end stuff too.
