It’s funny that you suggest I may not have followed the story, after replying to MetsJets post in which he suggested it may have been as simple as a person driving into a security barrier, lol.
Even a headline level knowledge of the event would tell a person otherwise.
My suggestion stems from the insinuation that this was some out of control plot cracked in the last seconds with Whitmer in serious danger whisked away by some hero at the FBI. In fact, it was well under control with an informant and Whitmer well aware of the plot.
In regards to your question about Ralphie, no idea why they weren't charged in a conspiracy to kidnap Northam. Maybe the feds didn't need to complicate things and feel they have enough for a conviction with the MI plot? What do you think?
I’m not sure where I insinuated that Whitmer was seconds away from being kidnapped, or seriously hurt or killed. I said she was in danger. I said there were credible threats against her and they resulted in conspiracy, and other, charges against those involved. That’s in conjunction with the armed protestors casually strolling through the Michigan Capitol, which I also thought was dangerous, as I mentioned. She was governing in an environment where armed protestors were opposing her at the capitol, and there was an active plot to kidnap her. Imminent danger, ‘seconds away‘ from imminent danger, are conditions you have introduced, not me... the purpose apparently to downplay the ‘courage’ she had to find in order to do her job. You’re basically saying it’s no big deal for her because these guys are idiots, the cops were onto them, and they didn’t execute the plan.
I don’t think they charged the people in a conspiracy to kidnap Northam because there wasn’t evidence to support those charges beyond a discussion of Northam as a potential target. They didn’t conduct surveillance of his vacation property on two separate occasions, as an example.

Ya, totally disagree in regards to the danger aspect of this. FBI had it under control. I'm not 'basically saying its no big deal for her because these guys are idiots, the cops were onto them, and they didn’t execute the plan.' I'm saying she wasn't in danger because these guys are idiots, the cops were onto them, and they couldn't (not didn't) execute the plan. And these guys are being prosecuted for their plotting as well they should be. The seriousness of it isn't in question. The 'danger' is totally exaggerated, like my seconds away piece.
You keep going to the armed protesters casually strolling through the capital. Was that even illegal? Apparently not.

Her award isn't simply for being almost kidnapped, she wasn't almost kidnapped and the feds had this under control. Her award is for her handling of covid. Do you think her handling is award worthy? You can continue to praise her courage and still comment on her policies. Why do you think Michigan was such a mess?
We also don’t know if there was any chance of their “plot” being successful, so we don’t know if she was in any danger. It could have been on the level of some moron driving into the White House fence.
the chance is always greater than 0%; the fact that something didn't happen didn't mean the possibility was 0% just because we know an outcome. JFK was assassinated, Reagan was shot and hospitalized.
It's not like either of these guys were masterminds who shot those presidents.

I left the subject because it is nonsense. The tiniest anthill to die on.
Man gets 18 months in prison for threatening to kill Trump
A 36-year-old Texas man has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump
Trump received threats daily with many prosecutions for legitimacy. Trump is clearly not alone. Politicians of both sides get crack-pot threats. Hell, repubs were actually shot at during softball practice. Rand Paul leads Washington in physical threats.
And the award goes to......(hold your laughter)......Whitmer!

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley @reppressley · May 6 TODAY: @senbooker and I re-introduced the MOMMIES Act to expand Medicaid coverage for birthing people & promote community-based, holistic approaches to maternity care.
Every pregnant person should be listened to and treated with dignity and respect during and after childbirth.

I disagree.
Every plot is different as is a multitude of other factors. Mostly today’s security for politicians

LEGO Unveils New Genderless Bricks With No Male/Female Connectors
BILLUND, DENMARK—As part of its new push toward inclusion and diversity, LEGO has unveiled a new set of genderless bricks without male or female connectors. The entirely smooth bricks have no suggestive male nubs or female receptors and instead have entirely smooth, androgynous sides all around.
"This represents a new era in inclusive building bricks!" said LEGO spokesperson Bjørn Irkestøm-Slater Walker. "Finally -- anyone can play with our LEGOs without being triggered by those horrid male and female parts that imply they're only supposed to fit in one direction. Every brick can stack on any other brick without anyone misgendering anything or making a brick feel bad because it only fits in one way."
"I mean, I guess they're pretty much just blocks now," he admitted. "But they're INCLUSIVE blocks!"
The bricks will still, of course, instantly kill you if you step on them.
I don't know who that is but I do know what---- a moron.
The NYTimes is hoping the can be saved by the law for intentionally defaming people they politically oppose (oxymoron?). This is increasingly untrue. Already Project Veritas has defeated them in court. Already the Times offered a disingenuous retraction. The Bee may indeed not win, it is a tough legal hurdle to overcome, but allowing the dishonest nonsense to go unchallenged makes no (zero/zip/nada) sense and hurts the delivery if information in the long run.

I’d love to hear more about this win, especially the disingenuous retraction.
