fucking awesome to see Luke again, and he looks amazing, but they are fucking this up.
One of the major differences between him and the prequel jedi is not forgoing attachment, it is how he redeemed his father and the entire jedi order.
This is a major major backpedal when they had the perfect opportunity to use it as a lesson for grogu instead of making him choose. It is something he never believed in and did the opposite of. He found a better way and they revert him to prequel ideas which makes no sense at all. It is also sooooo much more compelling to go down this new path of handling attachments and letting grogu see mando and having to wrestle with that than the basic bitch shit of having to straight up choose.
I guess they need him to change ideologies out of no where so grogu chooses mando. Cant have him get murdered by the school shooter lol. They need to make mandoverse its own timeline asap
Thing is he was gonna choose mando anyway so they didnt need to do this at all. They already mentioned a mandalorian jedi in the previous episode. I thought for sure when ahsoka said "hes now a padawan and not a foundling" mando would calmy say "hes both"
Last two episodes are still way better than the rest of the show but that is a big backpedal for the new jedi order that cannot be ignored.
The dark saber stuff in the previous episode was kind of interesting, makes it more mystical where you need to be in tune with the blade and since its so ancient they can do whatever the fuck they want with it. That is how you can change stuff up without it wrecking other established things.
You should do a podcast.
i just cant get over lukes ideology
they have to make him act like a prequel jedi to set up the sequels which is why they need to be seperated asap. He already learned his lesson a thousand times over when it comes to attachment
watch this and tell me how he reverts back to attachment bad
And him having met and having access to Ahsoka (which we learn in the same episode) who was Anakins padawan that knows he turns to Vader should know same thing. The jedi suppressing his love for Padme is what led him down this dark path.
Here is something from the old EU where Luke is going through old jedi texts and amending them (top right and middle left).
How they can fuck this up is beyond me. If this is not a bait and switch as a test for Grogu then we are on a straight collision course for the Sequel awfulness. How he would put a young padawan through the same shit Obi Wan and Yoda did to him is just straight up fucked. The future of the mandoverse depends heavily on the next episode where they can hopefully reveal it is a bad bait and switch and that is not how we are doing things anymore. If not then it is just to set him up as a failure because fuck the OT characters is Disneys motto.

You think too hard about shit like this that doesn't matter. Chill.
"Too often, we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." - JFK
"First Thoughts are the everyday thoughts. Everyone has those. Second Thoughts are the thoughts you think about the way you think. People who enjoy thinking have those. Third Thoughts are thoughts that watch the world and think all by themselves. They’re rare, and often troublesome."

a defining characteristic about the character being changed for no reason doesnt matter? It is literally what separates him from the prequel jedi, it is the major philosophical change for his jedi order. It is so gigantic that it is the resolution of the original trilogy between the main protagonist and main antagonist. It literally does not not get bigger than that lmao
If you dont care about it thats fine, but it is a dishonest or an uninformed opinion to say it is small potatoes.

someone made cad bane look way closer to the OG version in clone wars, i would have preferred more blue and the slender face in the fan version but he is old and maybe that shit changes. But with aliens you never know the life span of their species.
either way the fan remake looks kick ass. I do think overall the mandoverse is color averse, Tatooine in the movies did not look this flat and monotone, it looked like a hot fucking desert that would be miserable. Even the twilek look a bit muted #Bringbackcolorfulaliens
As cool as the Naboo starfighter is, there's no way that's going to be Mando's main ride right? It's completely incompatible with bounty hunting seeing as he can't bring a bounty in let alone carry all his gear plus Grogu.
Unless he gets a bigger ship with a deck for the N1.

Actually I've given more thought to this and decided you are wrong. This makes perfect sense for Luke. It is the same option he was given by Yoda. Help your friends or continue training. Grogu is 100% choosing Mando.

yes and that ultimatum made him give into the dark side temporarily in the throne room fight. The way is to teach him how to control his feelings and attachments to strengthen your bonds with the force and the people around you.
Obi and Yoda put luke through hell with this boomer jedi shit, if he listened like they wanted him to there would have been no one left to save by the time his training was complete.

but that choice has to be his. Luke doesn't have the right to deny him

yes it does have to be his, which is why saying if he chooses the lightsaber he can NEVER see his friend again is complete bullshit. Thats not a choice that is being a dick.
No one is saying he will be trained against his will, the problem is the attachment angle. Luke has attachments i guess he cant ever see han or leia or chewie again.

I would like to think he gave him the ultimatum knowing he could always come back and become a Jedi on his own. And he didn't say you will NEVER see him again. He said he probably wouldn't it. It was much more of a choice than you are making it out to be

i still dont like it if it is a bait and switch
they need to do some serious work in the finale to make luke stop acting like he is jake skywalker in TLJ which is the fear. Feels like they are just setting him up for failure because the sequels exist.
It is the primary difference between his philosophy and the philosophy of the prequel jedi that he bucked the trend of. You do not make light of it with your first student in a "from certain point of view" obi wan way. That only sows distrust and anger in your student.
Without the ultimatum and if he was presented the gift or not he is still choosing the mandolorian so it is pointless to tarnish lukes jedi views to accomplish the same thing. So they didnt have to do this AT ALL we all know baby yoda is what makes the mando show. Hes obviously going back with him so why fuck up lukes shit on the drive by?

it's going to come down to what Luke says after he chooses. I would like to think he started as a naive teacher who was broken by Ben and his own actions.

Tbf Luke could still train him, it just won't be the old ways of the Jedi.
Let's face it we know he won't be a Jedi regardless. He's never mentioned in events that takes place after (though he would still be a child anyways, so).

oh hes def gonna be a jedi
ezra, cal cestis, and all those dudes are never mentioned disney doesnt give a shit about gap filling with important force users. The point is he never should be raised on the old ways of the jedi because luke discovered a better way
thats the whole discussion but luke regresses to something he was never exposed to and never believed in lol
Thrawn cant be Thanos, he has no powers. His strength comes from strategy and intellect. He is further stripped of his power because he would have to rebuild everything wherever he is.
Not much of a cliff hanger anymore that we are 8-9 years since they warped and they still havent found them but it would be cool if they brought Rakata Prime and the Rakata back to be Thrawns technologically advanced army.
