I'm afraid to ask but how exactly does Disney support and promote pedophilia?
Because they had the audacity to oppose the next messiah, DeSantis.
For people that claim to be for small government, they sure do like to fight for more governmental power.
The strategy of just accusing opponents of being pedophiles was floating around in alt-right circles several years ago. I'm not surprised by many Republicans playing footsie with the alt-right for votes, but Republicans using that strategy makes me wonder just how connected some "mainstream" Republicans are to the alt-right.
snerb Where are we going, and why am I in a hand basket?
In the 80s right wing, christian shit-heads claimed Disney promoted witchcraft and Satanism. Now Qtinley shit-heads claim Disney promotes pedophilia. The right wing shit-heads have gotten even more stupid.
we boycotted disney in the 80s/90s in our family because of "gay day" at the Disney resorts
And now Disney World is gayer than ever. See what you did? lol

The new angle of the left yelling RACIST!!! at everything and everyone they don't like.
The key difference is target- Simply stop trying to sexualize toddlers and you are free.

Am I going to have to start paying state income tax because then I won’t be “from” Florida anymore? That’s all I care about. Disney is not going to make my kids gay.

You're safe, Florida isn't drafting a state income tax. They are simply considering stripping Disney of gov't favoritism.

Because the Teletubbies will do it first?
That’s not going to exist in my house. Not because I’m afraid of it making my kids gay, but because I feel like the show has the ability to suck out souls.
republicans love beaucratic red tape. Now instead of Disney constructing something as they want/when they want, it'll have to go through a new local governance.
The local counties who are going to have to foot their debt didn't vote for DeSantis, so he doesn't give a fuck.

I wasn't a fan of shows that didn't use real words. So, I only let my kids watch so much of shows like that.
Whilst being saddled with Disney’s debt. Would you be happy paying thousands in taxes for nebulous and unknown benefits of tax revenue?
If it were a certainty, nope... But, do you trust Disney's accounting 100%?
Do you trust the Florida GOP and Desantis? So, at best you have two sides of a politically motivated action without understanding 100% of the potential tax implications of a hastily undertaken political tantrum. So, don’t ya think this should be evaluated a bit longer?

That makes sense. I want the most educational stuff but I also don’t want to be THAT Asian mom. I need the balance.
"Of course, that is all dependent on if the accounting is above board or if it's "Hollywood accounting"
My initial thought was, of course they're going to operate it as a loss.
Too much panic incited by the View in defense of pedophilia.
Local gov't will simply raise taxes on Disney specific businesses to cover costs. Gov'ts raising targeted taxes isn't (and I'm not making this up) new. That is what Disney has long opposed, paying "its fair share".
Disney can then choose to suck up the cost or pass it along to its customers.
The state has no obligation to subsidize Disney if they believe it is a poor value for residents.

No, I don't trust either of them as it relates to this... What I absolutely do not believe is that Reedy Creek operates at that kind of a financial loss every year...that might be what they report, but that's not reality.
But, imo, logic favors the taxpayers in this situation. It's reasonable to assume Disney is using this, more or less, as a tax shelter....it's similar to local TIF districts.

One of those shows that I liked was Alien Monkeys. It doesn't use real words, but it's very creative in its incorporation of different types of music to tell a short, silly story. It's also funny. It was on Amazon (not sure if it still is).
But in general, I see gibberish shows as an extension of speaking baby talk to kids. Little kids are trying to learn how to communicate, and gibberish doesn't help.

Who are the tax payers that you're talking about, and what is their logic?

Assuming Disney doesnt up and move, the long term benefit favors the taxbase.
