The market solution is walkable/bikable cities, with good public transportation.
You're free to go elsewhere if you're too lazy
Ahh, in your bikable world, who is paying to build these multi family dwellings?
Anyhow, do you ever wonder why these awesome bikeable/walkable cities with no parking don't exist? Because the idea is stupid as fuck. Maybe you should pitch this stupid as fuck idea to a PE group and go buy portland?
Don't worry, I'm sure your rascal scooter is included as well
I see a few choices 1. Move 2. Live with it 3. Get involved and get grounded 4. Elect a Fucking Idiot again so you can to pretend that policy is easy, NATO sucks, Putin is a genius. Espionage act is silly.
Exactly.
When you discover you have no meaningful, intelligent thoughts on a subject you simply hide behind your TDS.
Don't worry, I'm sure your rascal scooter is included as well
So to recap, no clue whatsoever about development or any idea on what you meant by 'greatly reduce parking'? You're like a little Buttigeig huh, just talking out of your ass about something you're absolutely clueless about? It does qualify you to work for Biden!
Don't worry, I'm sure your rascal scooter is included as well

To be fair, Biden doesn't know who Buttigeig is or what he is doing.....

I'm sure the expert dodger would know!
But I'll humor your incompetence since you're incapable of actually asking what you want.
Somewhere like NYC has different minimums depending on distance from public transit. 70 spots for 100 units in not within distance of a transit station, and 30 parking spots for those inside closer by.
Nothing that is important, because obviously you don't want people to walk block sand block to get anywhere, it's also why it's important to improve transit (though NYC does fairly well in that regard).
Nearly 80% of buildings in the last decade built the exact amount of the minimum required. Suggesting they would have had fewer if able to, so yes even the free market agrees that there is too many parking, and desire for more transit.

Lol, no shit they have different minimums, nice google job. Why is that interesting? Question stands, what did you mean by 'greatly reduced parking'. Still, how does NYC translate, to say, LA or Denver or Seattle or Salt Lake City or Houston? Little secret, listen carefully, developers want to build the least amount of parking, its fucking expensive and it makes a building way less efficient (think Net rentable to Gross sq ft., google it when you have a moment). See how the market works? However, they also need the project to pencil, or, not development fees and no construction management fee. You know why? No building if it doesn't pencil. NYC example is cute, but building in NY is different than pretty much anywhere in the country, NYC needs minimums to make sure the developer builds any, lol. Why do you think that is? You will find some really urban areas across the country that make sense to build much less parking, but by and large, not the case. Cars aren't going anywhere, you and AOC can go cry in a corner.
So again, what is 'greatly reduced parking'?

New illegal immigrants cost US $4B more than Trump’s wall
The estimated 2.3 million illegal immigrants who have crossed the border and stayed since Joe Biden became president will cost taxpayers over $9,000 each a year in housing, food, medical, and other services, according to a new report.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform, which regularly tabulates the costs of illegal immigration, has put a price tag of $20.4 billion on providing “benefits and services” for the illegal immigrants being spread across the United States since Biden became president.
That, said the group, is on top of the $140 billion taxpayers are spending to provide services to illegal immigrants who were already in the U.S. before Biden replaced President Donald Trump and signaled that the border is now open.
For comparison, the added $20.4 billion annual bill is $4 billion more than the $16.4 billion the former Trump administration spent building and restoring hundreds of miles of the border wall.
Since January 2021, an estimated 1.3 million illegal immigrants have crossed through border facilities and are inside the U.S. Another estimated 1 million crossed undetected.
FAIR said the price for providing services to the new generation of illegal immigrants is $9,232 for each.
“Even in an age in which trillion-dollar spending packages are considered modest, the additional $20.4 billion the Biden border crisis has heaped onto the backs of American taxpayers is still staggering,” said Dan Stein, president of FAIR. He added, “$20.4 billion could address some very important needs of the American public, instead of covering the costs of the surge of illegal migration triggered by this administration’s policies.”
FAIR gave some examples of what the money could be spent on:
Providing every homeless veteran in America $50,000 per year for a decade, effectively ending veteran homelessness.
Giving every family in America earning $50,000 or less a grocery voucher of roughly $410.
Providing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits to more than 7 million additional needy families.
Funding and expanding the entire National School Lunch Program.
Hiring more than 315,000 police officers to combat rising crime across the country.
“These are the people President Biden pledged to champion. Instead, he is choosing to divert an additional $20.4 billion away from their needs, in order to fund a radical open borders agenda with no end in sight,” said Stein.

Widespread BS on border is meant to obscure Biden’s role in the migrant disaster
With our border crisis worsening by the day, President Joe Biden is throwing up his hands and letting everyone know that whatever’s at fault, it’s not his terrible policies.
His latest nonsense? The claim we’re seeing a border surge because “these people are fleeing communism” in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
No: Migrants from those countries account for 27% of August encounters with Customs and Border Patrol. They’re an increasing share of the total — but it would still be at record levels without them.
And the reason for the surge from all nations is that Team Biden is (in some cases quite literally) waving migrants in with an unspoken promise to make de facto citizens of them.
And: Yes, it’s easy to see why people would flee Venezuela and other oppressive countries. But that brings us to left’s new favorite term for all these migrants: “asylum seekers.”
A few migrants are legitimately seeking asylum. But once they’ve escaped the nightmare of, say, Maduro’s Venezuela, nearly all are safe from his oppression without need to travel 2,000-plus more miles to get here.
Overwhelmingly, these folks are seeking better opportunity in the United States, period. That’s why the vast majority of asylum claims get denied when (and if) the courts finally rule on the case.
They’re using Biden’s open-door policies to try to jump the line ahead of those immigrating legally. “Seeking asylum” is simply the loophole they use to do it.
One more deception in the mix here: The left’s widespread claims (including, sadly, from Mayor Eric Adams) that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and others are somehow deceiving or even forcing migrants onto those buses to NYC, Chicago and so on. (Some even call it “human trafficking.”)
Ha! Blake Barrow, who heads an El Paso charity working with migrants there (the daily inflow of some 1,300 is overwhelming local human services) just wrote Biden begging for help. His letter reports: “Almost all of the migrants arrive with an idea of an ultimate [US] destination” and “I am not aware of anyone being placed on a bus to New York who did not want to go there.” Indeed, roughly a fifth of those his group helps want to get to the Big Apple.
None of this still-growing migrant surge has much to do with what’s going on elsewhere in the world. It’s a consequence of the left’s long drive to promote illegal immigration, followed by Biden’s decision, from his first day in the White House, to open the border.

'Take your a** home!' Heavily-armed black rights groups march through Austin chanting anti-illegal migrant slogans, demands Biden 'close the border' and calls for 'reparations to be paid NOW'
Activists with black self-defense groups held an armed 'Second Amendment Unity Walk' on Saturday in Austin, Texas where they marched to the State House The group called for President Biden to close the borders and demanded reparations for descendants of enslaved people and a hate crime bill protecting Black Americans The group was led by the The Elmer 'Geronimo' Pratt Pistol & Rifle Gun Club The march comes after Texas Gov. Abbott sent two buses of migrants to VP Kamala Harris' home and Gov. DeSantis sent a plane of 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard Harris slammed Republicans for 'playing games' with human lives for busing migrants across the country
Armed activists with a coalition of black self-defense groups marched in Austin, Texas over the weekend calling for an end to illegal immigration and demanding that President Biden close the borders.
Some of the activists chanted 'close the borders' and 'take your a** home' as they marched toward the Texas Capitol in the 'Second Amendment Unity Walk' on Saturday.
The march was led by The Elmer 'Geronimo' Pratt Pistol & Rifle Gun Club. Their demands also included reparations for descendants of enslaved people and a hate crime bill protecting Black Americans.
Video and photos of the third annual 'Second Amendment Unity Walk' show marches armed with guns as they walked through the streets of Austin toward the Texas State Capitol.
Other than The Elmer 'Geronimo' Pratt Pistol & Rifle Gun Club, several other groups were involved including the Black Riders Liberation Party.
'Reparations now!' the group chanted, according to Ford Fischer who tweeted from the march.
'We don't say 'hands up, don't shoot!'' one explained. 'Guns up!' they chanted. 'Shoot back!'
The activists continued their march through Austin holding a massive sign that read 'Reparations now!'
'Close the borders!' they chanted. One yelled 'build the wall' but the phrase didn't catch on.
'Immigrants, we've been here!' another person yelled. 'Take your ass home!'
Vehicles honked their horns at the activists as they marched through the intersections chanting: 'What do we want? Closed borders! When do we want it? Now!'
Once at the capitol building, a speaker summarized the group's demands as 'Reparations now, delineation, a stop to illegal immigration.'
'We need an anti-crime bill for Black Americans.'
'And we need the same protection act that the Native Americans have against CPS for our Black American children.'
'Republicans, do not dare to make the mistake of thinking you will get our vote just because we believe in exercising our Second Amendment.'
'Yes, I'm talking to you Ted Cruz and Governor Abbott.'
'Don't think we are standing with you because we are against illegal immigration.

Open that Wall!!!
Walls don't work....if we make sure they are built to fail!
Arizona's governor is stacking shipping containers along the border and defying a federal request to remove them
Gaps in fencing along the US-Mexico border can be a dramatic – and sometimes puzzling – sight.
Miles of tall steel bollards end abruptly, giving way to open space or much smaller barriers that are designed to block vehicles from crossing, but not people.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey says he got tired of waiting for federal authorities to fill in the holes.
Crews at his direction started stacking shipping containers along portions of the border in August. Now the Bureau of Reclamation is asking the state to remove them – a request that Ducey’s office calls “unacceptable.”
Meanwhile, Arizona is starting to place shipping containers along another section of the border.
Here’s what we know about what’s happening, and a look at the bigger picture.
Stacked shipping containers are filling four border gaps so far
Ducey, a Republican, issued an executive order in August telling the state’s Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to use shipping containers to fill in gaps along the border. The first project: closing a 1,000-foot gap near Yuma, Arizona.
“Arizona has had enough,” he said at the time. “We can’t wait any longer.”
The 8,800-pound, 9-by-40-feet containers stand about 22 feet tall when stacked, welded together and topped with four feet of razor wire, the governor’s office said, while border fencing built during the Trump administration is about 30 feet high.
Shortly after the project began, two shipping containers toppled. A Univision reporter who shared photos of the fallen containers said contractors in the area had told her strong winds were to blame. Ducey’s office said they suspected foul play. Since then, no similar incidents have been reported, spokesman CJ Karamargin said.
By late August, 11 days after the first shipping container project began, officials announced that 130 stacked shipping containers were filling four gaps and covering more than two-thirds of a mile along the border in Arizona’s Yuma County.
A federal agency says their placement is illegal and calls it trespassing
Constructing a bigger border wall was one of former President Trump’s signature priorities, and among the initiatives most criticized by his opponents. President Biden swiftly halted border wall construction once he took office.
Ducey’s office says the shipping containers will stay – for now
So far Arizona isn’t backing down from the effort.

Legalizing Border Crossing for All: The Next Stage of Biden's Migration Crisis CIS gets rare access to a secretive, expanding program that makes border crossing "legal"
MEXICALI, Mexico – This northern Mexican city across from California is one of the latest to go live with an unreported, legally questionable new immigration strategy that President Joe Biden’s administration has discreetly unfurled for months all along the U.S. southern border.
Twice a day, seven days a week since September, Mexicali city officials working closely with Biden’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection, on a secure shared “CBP-ONE” online platform, select hundreds of people a month for their escorted government-to-government handoffs through the land port of entry to Calexico, Calif. Once the Americans check their paperwork, they legally admit intending illegal border crossers like Nicaraguan Maria Esperanza Diaz Ruiz, 42, into the U.S. interior under a questionable authority known as “humanitarian or significant public benefit parole.”
They are free to start new lives under the benefit, with work authorization and the right to apply for asylum part of the package.
As she waited with 25 other selected immigrants for her legal ride to America, Maria told the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) she’d left home figuring she would have to pay smugglers to cross her over the border illegally. But up-trail word from friends reached her down-trail by cell phone that the Biden administration had legally admitted them and many others from Mexicali under the new humanitarian parole program.
They told Maria, “This is real. This is really a real program. This is not a magic trick,” she told CIS.
Maria came to Mexicali as soon as she could. A local migrant shelter took her in, and while she was fed and housed in relative security, American volunteers, lawyers, and activists helped her collect the documents America required: just the right documented story of woe, a psychologist attesting to suffered traumas and fear of returning home, proof of citizenship and identity, a clear criminal background, need for urgent free American medical treatment, and a sponsor in the U.S. willing to financially support the applicant. The story Maria proffered is that she worked for a government official in Nicaragua whose homosexuality drew death threats from her ex-husband, also a government worker, against her and her boss.
“I had to leave because I would be killed,” she claimed.
On that claimed basis, Maria was now waiting for a Mexican immigration service bus to drive her and 30 others in her group into America, still unable to believe her unlikely good fortune.
“I am so happy, so, so happy,” Maria said.
Teams of Mexicali city administrators work feverishly to enter each chosen immigrant into the CBP-ONE data portal so the Americans can pre-approve them for handoff at the Calexico border crossing.
The new face of Biden’s border crisis
Indeed, thousands are hearing about this new legal way in – and swamping an expanding system of Mexican shelters that gradually feed their occupants through American ports of entry with temporary legal status and opportunity to make the big move permanent. Local authorities are working to expand shelter facilities and establish new ones to accommodate the soaring demand for the legalized crossings, two shelter managers in Mexicali and one in Tijuana told CIS.
Mexicali city officials recently granted CIS rare, unfettered access to their side of the legalized border-crossing operation that began in September with President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security. Construction on a significant building expansion was underway on acreage behind it.
The Mexicali operation mirrors others just like it that began funneling increasing numbers of immigrants claiming tales of woe into the United States through ports of entry from the Pacific Coast to the Gulf of Mexico, the three shelter managers say. Mexico also appears to have set up operations well south of the American border, in Cancun on Mexico’s southern Caribbean coast and in Monterrey farther north, where pre-approved immigrants are flown into American airports.

Tinley has a problem with vetted legal immigration now?
It was only a matter of time before you went mask off.
Exactly!
There is a key but specific reason they hid this from the voters- they are ignoring the law. They are acting as an authoritative ruling gov't.
You are fond of making ignorant posts hoping everyone thinks you're a pathetic fool. It was only a matter of time before you let your mask slip and reveal that you're an anti-American fascist.

You live (or at least I think you do) in state that is significantly impacted by illegal immigration. What is your state government publishing about the numbers of illegally aliens they are processing this year, compared to previous years. Any official stats and sources would be welcome
