I don't care what the people who are the human equivalent of leaving the grocery cart in the middle of the parking lot has to say
But you want me to pay their student loans. You should be sentenced to live the remaining part of your life in Pennsylvania.
"It's not my job to put the shopping cart where it belongs, they pay people for that." I doubt you've made enough where that tax amount even makes a significant difference.
At least it's not Tennessee
snerb Where are we going, and why am I in a hand basket?
Personally I don't think you should be, and I've made that case before. I don't get anything out of this either, doesn't bother me because it'll be a net positive. Do you have kids or grandkids who are or might go to college?
Yes, spending money on the benefit of the general public is good.

This doesn't benefit the 'general public'...it's completely situational. Without a college degree,or even having dropped out of college you can't qualify for anything. That not 'general public'.
College grad making $124k gets 10k of debt forgiven...
Electrician making $60k with a $150k mortgage gets nothing.
Sorry man, that college degree shouldn't entitle them to that.
To be fair, I (at least) have major issues with the foreign aid as well. In fact, even more so especially as regards Ukraine considering all of the Hunter nonsense.
You don’t have any student loan debt I hope.
No, and it seems completely contrary to the notion of lowering inflation. Basically low income people who are not getting a break will be subsidizing the bill for middle class people who are, and inflation also hurts low income people the most… Just an incredibly awful precedent and policy decision. It's literally attempting to buy votes right before the midterm, too.
Like Georgia's Hope scholarship, which is funded by lottery proceeds?
Incomprehensible amounts of money are spent by this country in foreign aid. But you're focused on Americans getting a little bit of student loan debt relief.
not at all. Playing the lottery is voluntary. Paying taxes isn't.

If said Electrician took a loan out for their education to become an electrician, is that being excluded from debts being forgiven?
Also an electrician with a $150k mortgage gets tax breaks on the interest/RE taxes they pay. They also have a tangible home that appreciates in value.

because they made that decision to set themselves up for these benefits. They were smart enough to not take out loans for a gender studies degree so they can work at starbucks.
