This could also go into the police thread. Cowards.
Yep, cowards. They clearly don't want that label but they'll never escape it.
The link didn't disappoint. The TT is the leading leftist source in conservative Texas. Of course they are going with the leftist narrative. Mission complete. Still, left unanswered is was the report most influence by leftist agenda promotion or absolute lack of knowledge of the issue? Too close to call.
Getting to the meat of the story-
But in the aftermath of the shooting, there has been little grappling with the role the gun played. Texas Republicans, who control every lever of state government, have talked about school safety, mental health and police training — but not gun control.
Worse yet, they didn't even go the full distance and make killing against the law.
It went downhill from there-
The gunman had an AR-15, a rifle design used by U.S. soldiers in every conflict since Vietnam. Its bullets flew toward the officers at three times the speed of sound and could have pierced their body armor like a hole punch through paper.
Not quite accurate, but perhaps not intentional. They may indeed just not know much of what they are rambling about.
...in their own words, during and after their botched response, the officers pointed to another reason: They were unwilling to confront the rifle on the other side of the door. ...officers had concluded that immediately confronting the gunman would be too dangerous.
That's like the fireman not going into the burning home to save kids because they didn't sign up for a dangerous job.
“You knew that it was definitely an AR,” Uvalde Police Department Sgt. Donald Page said in an interview with investigators after the school shooting. “There was no way of going in. … We had no choice but to wait and try to get something that had better coverage where we could actually stand up to him.”
Like what? Toss grenades into the room? 50 cal blowing through the walls?
A weapon of war
Officers arriving at Robb Elementary on May 24 had similar reactions as they realized that the gunman had an AR-15.
The AR-15 was designed to efficiently kill humans.
It's difficult to name any gun that is designed to kill randomly. All of them are "weapons of war". Molotov cocktails are weapons of war.
The biggest, most glaring omission is the Chain of Command. Someone made the call and those under the command followed the orders. That's how it works. It doesn't fit this gun control screed, but it remains important.
My only complaint about the gun control aspect is that a 18yo without a job can get 2 daniel defense riffles and 1800 rounds of 556.
A military veteran allegedly gunned down three children and an active-duty soldier in a domestic mass shooting in South Carolina, authorities said.
The suspect, 42-year-old Charles Slacks, Jr., allegedly carried out the shootings at his ex-wife's home around 10 p.m. Tuesday in Sumter, which is about 45 miles east of Columbia, police said.
Slacks allegedly shot the soldier, who was sitting in the backyard, and then killed the three children, two of whom were his own, Sumter Police Chief Russell Roark said at a news conference Wednesday.
Slacks then died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Roark said.
Slacks' ex-wife was the only survivor, the chief said.
The children were ages 5, 6 and 11, Roark said.
Police only identified the adult victim as a 38-year-old active-duty Army member, citing the military's need to notify next of kin.
What a stupid fuckin tweet. Guns are never going away. Ever. They've been around for hundreds of years and these types of shootings have only significantly ramped up the last couple of decades.
Fwiw, I've never owned or fired a gun. This type of bullshit gaslighting, immediately after a tragedy, is such trash.

You think that inspired the shooter? Why are you sharing such trash and politicizing a tragedy minutes later? Strange to go straight to 'cuntservatives'.

You suggested the topic was short-lived and you expected more from me. Perhaps you didn’t realize that real people would have to be killed in a mass murder fashion before I updated the thread.
You expected more, unfortunately you got it
snerb Where are we going, and why am I in a hand basket?

Wishing people dead and questioning your dedication are very different. Sorry if your clouded brain is to small to see that.
Would Biden's assault weapons ban have prevented this or would she have gotten the guns anyway?

Nobody is wishing.
IMO, she would not have gotten the guns. I base this on the fact that mass murderers seem to be impulsive and often purchase weapons in close proximity to their use. We’ll have to wait for the facts to come out before that is known for sure

Well, you suggested that this is something I wanted to have happen...

Do you know when and how she acquired them?
I don't.
I clearly said that the timing of the acquisition was my opinion
