Someone has obviously never been turkey bowling on a frozen lake....
We also have winter lake golf. Just like golf but with a tennis ball and an oversized hole in the ice. Usually done as a fundraiser in the winter.
Lets not forget the Polar plunge
Have you ever?
I always said I was going to do that... One locally you have to raise a certain amount of money for and another is in Stevens Point on New Years Day, and I didn't feel like leaving that early to go drink and just into the frozen river.

I did my first year here on New Years. It was 20 below that day - it hurt
snerb Where are we going, and why am I in a hand basket?

I bet. Me and a buddy put our snowmobiles through the ice many years ago... We were in about 3.5 feet of water...long story, but we got the sleds out, we were soaking wet and had about a 30 minute ride back to the truck and trailer...that was awful. We stripped down to our underwear for the drive home just to get out of our frozen clothes.

I’m sure GB is ok, but playing golf year round wins my vote

That is some local flavor you will never see in an article, but should be there! People having fun in winter.
I don’t see those kind of crazy events here. I created and organized a one day unlimited Par 3, bbq, horse shoes and beer, lots of beer. I had a local limo company provide 2 limos to take people home. No driving allowed.
It was called “Man Town” a disgusting display of manliness. $100 ticket sold out in a few days. Raised $10K for youth baseball.
Unexpectedly I found out that 3 women were swingers. I heard rumors about all 3 but this confirmed it. They insist I sell them a ticket because they like stupid man things. Imagine 3 women amongst 100 lit guys! No way.
The evening ended with fire surfing. Guys threw pieceso of plywood into our bonfire and tried to surf as long as they could. It was insane
There's a course, clubs, tennis balls and holes with flags.
It's a fundraiser event for some of the local non-profits.
I'm sure its fun as hell, soccer golfeseque.
As a golfer you know nothing is quite like golf. Addicting and frustrating in equal and unequal measures. Might not make sense, but neither does the game.

Lol I thought I was giving people a fun opportunity to rip Green Bay but instead we ended up with an interesting discussion about winter golf. Very nice!

That’s dangerous. You’re lucky you can tell that story
Was in Madison last August. I like it. I think it’s a better place than Portland, ME. Portland was on the list with Green Bay.
Portland is a big draw for young people. The waterfront is a happening place. But the big draw for Portland is breweries which only take a place so far. Gentrification is bringing the city back
